Double Standards — the unspoken truth of our society.
Almost every person has two faces — one for the world, and one for themselves. People often say that women are treated like “showpieces” or “material,” but the irony is, those very women who choose to present themselves that way usually have no problem doing so.
The real problem lies in society’s hypocrisy. The same people who preach that women should dress modestly are the ones who enjoy watching glamour on TV shows and movies. It’s a clear example of double standards.
When it comes to judging others, people have hundreds of rules, but when their own turn comes, all those rules magically disappear. That’s how the world works — “Rules for others, exceptions for ourselves.”
Life is actually very simple — what you do, you get back. But we humans love to complicate it, and later complain, “Why is this happening to me?”
Another example — for 365 days, some people keep telling their relatives, friends, or family that they are sick, tired, or financially weak. But when it comes to a wedding — suddenly everything becomes fine! Even if they have to take a loan, they’ll do it — just to maintain social image and show-off.
And the funniest part? Their “illness” magically disappears the moment it’s about marriage or celebration.
This is the truth — society runs on double standards, not honesty.
Because honestly, log jo bolte hain aur jo karte hain, unke beech ka gap hi sabse bada sach hai. Rules sabke liye same hone chahiye, lekin apply sirf convenience ke hisaab se hote hain.
For example, log respect ki baat karte hain, lekin peeche se judge karte hain. Freedom ki baat hoti hai, lekin control karna nahi chhodte. Aur sabse ironic baat — jo cheez khud enjoy karte hain, wahi doosron ke liye “galat” bana dete hain.
Moreover, society expectations ka ek aisa loop create kar deti hai jahan insaan khud se zyada logon ke opinions se driven ho jaata hai. Har koi perfect dikhna chahta hai, par sach bolne se darrta hai.
And the reality is, double standards tab tak exist karte rahenge jab tak log honesty se zyada image ko importance dete rahenge.
So maybe change society se nahi, individuals se start hota hai.
Thoda kam judge karein, thoda zyada samjhein.
Because at the end of the day,
being real is rare…
but that’s what actually makes a difference. ✨
Until we start applying the same rules to ourselves that we expect from others, nothing will truly change. Real change begins with self-awareness, not judgment.
