Villagio Garden Cafe near Chandigarh

My friend and I were looking for an aesthetic cafe to celebrate her birthday. Since we both love greenery and enjoy spending time surrounded by nature, we wanted to find a place that offered more than just good food. We were hoping for a beautiful setting where we could sit back, enjoy the views, take pictures, and make some lovely memories together. That is how we decided to visit Villagio Garden Cafe, located approximately 22.5 km from Chandigarh.

As soon as we arrived, the natural surroundings caught our attention. The greenery, open views, and peaceful atmosphere made the place feel special. We found a lovely spot near a small pondwhere two adorable ducks were swimming around together. Honestly, they became one of the highlights of our visit. Watching them move around in the water was such a cute little experience, and one of the ducks even seemed to be scolding us while we tried to take pictures! We couldn’t quite figure out what she was trying to tell us, but the moment definitely made us smile.

The evening view was another beautiful part of the experience. The lights began to glow as the evening progressed, creating a lovely atmosphere around the cafe. We spent some time clicking pictures and recording videos while more visitors started arriving. We had initially chosen our seating near the pond, but we were later informed that the area was needed for a stage setup, so we had to move to the attic seating area. Thankfully, the view from there was lovely too, and we still had plenty of opportunities to enjoy the surroundings and capture some beautiful photographs.
When it came to ordering, we were told that orders for our original seating area were taken after 5 PM. Once we settled into our new spot, we finally placed our order. My friend ordered a Coke, and we also ordered a Paneer Tikka Pizza. Since it was her birthday, I wanted to get her something special instead of a traditional birthday cake, so I chose a blueberry cheesecake for her. I also ordered a ginger ale for myself.

The food was enjoyable, and the beautiful setting certainly added to the overall experience. However, when we looked through the menu, we didn’t find it particularly distinctive compared with what we had expected from a place like this. The prices also felt quite high. The Paneer Tikka Pizza was priced at ₹645, while the Coke and ginger ale cost ₹125 each. The blueberry cheesecake was priced at ₹495. For us, the food was nice, but the pricing made the overall dining experience feel more expensive than we had anticipated.
The final bill added to that feeling. The pizza, Coke, and ginger ale came to ₹985, while the cheesecake bill was ₹545, including the applicable taxes. The bill also listed 2.5% SGST and 2.5% CGST, along with an optional 5% service charge. Considering the amount we spent, we felt that the overall experience could have been better in terms of both service and value for money.
Another area where we felt there was room for improvement was the service. At one point, we asked three times for the fan to be switched on, but our request was not attended to promptly because the staff member serving us appeared to be occupied elsewhere. I understand that a large property can be challenging to manage, especially when many guests are arriving, but I feel that service should be managed in a way that matches the scale and expectations of the place. Beautiful surroundings create a wonderful first impression, but attentive service is what helps complete the experience.
Despite these small disappointments, I wouldn’t say that our visit was without its charm. The natural views, the pond, the adorable ducks, and the opportunity to spend quality time together made the outing memorable. We clicked plenty of pictures because the place was genuinely beautiful, and the setting gave us exactly the kind of aesthetic moments we had been looking for.
Overall, Villagio Garden Cafe left us with mixed feelings. I loved the natural beauty and the atmosphere, and the food was nice, but I personally found the prices quite high and the service less attentive than I had expected. For me, the place stood out more for its views and photo-worthy corners than for its menu or service.

If you love greenery, scenic surroundings, and aesthetic spots for photographs, Villagio Garden Cafe may be worth considering for a visit. However, if you are planning to dine here, I would recommend checking the menu and keeping the pricing in mind beforehand. After all, a memorable outing is not just about how beautiful a place looks; it is also about how comfortable you feel, how you are treated, and whether the overall experience feels worth the money you spend.
For us, the ducks may just have been the cutest part of the entire visit!
