Screen and Addiction: Must-Watch Sitcom Series

“Best Sitcoms of All Time”, “Must-Watch Comedy Shows”

If you are looking for a distraction, dive into these must-watch sitcom series. Whether you’re watching them for the first time or re-watching for the hundredth time, these shows are timeless classics that will keep you entertained and laughing.

1. Seinfeld (1989–1998)

This is the most realistic yet hilarious sitcom I have ever seen. I absolutely love Jerry Seinfeld—he’s a legend! Even though I’m not a fan of stand-up comedy, I enjoyed every stand-up bit included in this series because Jerry makes them so effortlessly funny.
And of course, how can I forget George, Elaine, and Kramer? Just writing about these characters makes me laugh. What I love the most about Seinfeld is its realistic take on New York life and its people—absolutely no clichés.

2. The Big Bang Theory (2007–2019)

Okay, I am not a science fanatic, but I still love this show! If it can entertain and make someone like me (a non-science person) laugh, imagine how much fun it must be for science lovers.
The most iconic characters—Sheldon, Penny, Leonard, Howard, and Raj—make this sitcom one of the most popular shows of all time. It’s witty, nerdy, and heartwarming all at once.

3. How I Met Your Mother (2005–2014)

This sitcom is outstanding. It has everything—friendships, dating, breakups, patch-ups, past, present, and future moments. At some point, while watching, you’ll definitely find yourself relating to the characters and their stories.

4. The Office (2005–2013)

For those who think corporate life is always serious and stressful, this sitcom is a game-changer.
I love Steve Carell—his expressions, reactions, and simple presence can make you laugh out loud. Then there’s my favorite character, Dwight Schrute, and the charming Jim Halpert (seriously, he looks handsome in every single scene).
This show is a perfect mix of workplace comedy, emotions, and pure entertainment.

5. Friends (1994–2004)

Everybody knows about Friends!
Here’s my confession: at first, I didn’t like this show. I thought it was overrated. But when I gave it another chance, I realized—it’s a classic sitcom. Even today, in 2025, I can relate to Rachel’s 30th birthday struggles. This show is timeless, funny, and heartwarming.

6. The Mindy Project (2012–2017)

I love Mindy Kaling—she’s phenomenal! This sitcom has everything: comedy, realism, and diversity. It’s refreshing, fun, and full of relatable moments.

7. New Girl (2011–2018)

This show beautifully explores the idea of friendship that feels like family. It’s about strangers coming together and building bonds without conditions. Watching Jess and her quirky friends will make you laugh, cry, and believe in the magic of chosen families.

8. The Neighborhood (2018–present)

If you’re a fan of non-sugar-coated comedy with real-life reflections, this is your show! It’s bold, funny, and refreshingly different. A true must-watch sitcom.

Final Thoughts

These sitcoms are more than just shows—they’re comfort, laughter, and relatable life lessons packed into episodes you can watch anytime. If you’re feeling low, bored, or simply in need of a break, start with any of these series and thank me later.
